Inaugural Informa Defence & National Security Leadership Summit set for 6th November 2008, New Delhi
DNS Leadership Summit 2008 - the highest level international summit dedicated to defence and national security in India, will bring together all three defence services, government, key think tanks and industry
MAY 2008, NEW DELHI: Informa, the owners of information super-brands including Lloyd’s List and Datamonitor, and global mega-events including the Monaco Yacht Show, Cityscape, 3GSM and Leaders in India - have announced the launch of the Defence and National Security Leadership Summit, to be held in New Delhi this November.
Bringing together a select group of some of the most influential speakers and delegates from the Indian and international defence and security establishment, the DNS Leadership Summit focuses on the perspectives and requirements of the decision makers who directly influence national security policy and practice. These include government ministries, armies, air forces, navies, coast guards, police & border security forces, anti-terrorist & other security agencies, as well as respected think tanks including the IDSA. The one day summit will be followed by the DNS 2008 Awards and Gala Dinner.
The DNS 2008 Whitepaper – which will document and summarise policy recommendations of leading experts at the summit – will be submitted to the Ministry of Defence and made available to the wider defence and security community after the event. As Abhaey Singh, Managing Director of Informa India says, ‘the purpose of this is simple: to take the thoughts and ideas of these experts, and ensure that something useful can be done with them.’
The advisory board for Informa India’s defence and national security series – of which the DNS Leadership Summit is the flagship event - includes Admiral Arun Prakash, former Chief of the Naval Staff;General V P Malik, former Chief of the Army Staff; Air Marshal S. Bhojwani, former Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, Indian Air Force; Ajai Raj Sharma, former Director General – Border Security Force ( BSF ) and former Police Commissioner, Delhi; DT Joseph, former Union Secretary - Ministry of Shipping; Vice Admiral John De Silva, former Vice Chief of the Naval Staff and former Director General - Coast Guard; and Commander AJB Singh, Ex-Indian Navy and MoD – where he was the organiser of a number of previous DefExpo and Aero India exhibitions.
Co-located with three major international defence and homeland security exhibitions; NECE 2008, MSI 2008 and BSEC 2008 - and preceding their respective conferences – the one-day DNS Leadership Summit will bring together over 250 of the most senior officials and executives from over 9000 visitors to the three exhibitions.
