Profile of Dr. Vivek Lall

Vivek Lall was appointed Vice President and Country Head, Integrated Defense Systems for The Boeing Company in May 2007. Vivek brings significant India market and customer insights, which will help address the emerging needs of the customer. Vivek most recently served as Vice President for business development activities in India.

Vivek has previously held numerous leadership roles in marketing and engineering at Boeing including manager in the Airplane Performance and Propulsion group. Prior to Boeing, he worked for Raytheon and with NASA Ames Research Center in various multidisciplinary engineering fields. He also worked as an adjunct faculty member at Embry-Riddle, McConnell Air Force Base while working at Raytheon. He taught aerodynamics and propulsion for aircraft and spacecraft to U.S. Air Force and Boeing personnel.

Vivek earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Carleton University in Canada and a Masters of Aeronautical Engineering degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. He also has a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University in Kansas and an MBA from City University in Washington. He has also completed management and executive courses at the American Management Association, Washington DC and the Boeing Leadership Center, St.Louis.

Vivek has been the recipient of several honors and awards. He received a gold medal from Cambridge (UK) for his scientific contributions to the field of aerospace. He is in the Sigma Gamma Tau Aerospace Honor Society as well as the Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society. He was President of the Mathematical Association of America and is a member of various engineering and management societies in the US. He has authored over thirty articles in various journals and has also trained as a private pilot at the Phoenix International Flight Training Center.

Vivek was recently appointed chairman of the Defense Committee of the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM)
